First Look: Final Fantasy XIV – Dawntrail 7.3: “The Promise of Tomorrow”
Square Enix recently revealed details of the next patch of Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion, “The Promise of Tomorrow,” which looks to wrap up the latest story, as well as bringing exciting Quality of Life features.
The recent live Letter From The Producer detailed Parch 7.3 for Final Fantasy XIV, subtitled “The Promise of Tomorrow”. FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida unveiled coming changes leading up to the release of the patch due out in mid-August, including addressing issues that has been a hot topic of discussion since the release of the Dawntrail expansion last summer such as the then-impending shutdown of the controversial third-party addon that scraped player data in regards to the blocklist changes in 7.0. Additionally, the latest addition to the Dawntrail-era of features is Cosmic Exploration, which sees a new planet for crafters and gathers to explore coming in Patch 7.3.
Finally, “The Promise of Tomorrow” for Patch 7.3 also serves as the conclusion of the Dawntrail story; as with previous patches of prior expansions, the next two patches following 7.3 should prepare players for what’s to come for the next expansion in 8.0. However, the next expansion likely won’t be seen until 2027 as there has been speculation of the development cycle changing from the usual pre-expansion hype following the release of x.5 for a release a little over half a year later.
Here is a summary of upcoming changes for Patch 7.3: The Promise of Tomorrow from the broadcast:
- New Main Scenario Quests
